June 9, 2026 0 By Lorena Mejia

AMD made important announcements at Computex 2026, reaffirming its dedication to the gaming experience by allowing broader access to enthusiast-grade technologies. “We remain focused on providing gamers with high-performance technologies and the freedom to evolve their systems over time,” said David McAfee, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Client Channel and Graphics Business. “Our mission is to deliver an outstanding ownership experience for players worldwide.”

AMD Ryzen Processors

To mark 10 years of the AMD Socket AM4 platform, AMD unveiled two X3D processors to combat rising component prices. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D will re-release for $349 on June 25, which is $100 less than when the CPU launched four years ago. Similarly, the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D will launch at $329 on July 16 for the Socket AM5 platform.

The company also revealed that support for AM5 will continue through 2029, providing gamers and PC builders with flexibility for future system upgrades. Socket AM5 continues AMD’s tradition of long-term platform support established with Socket AM4. For nearly a decade, AMD continued to support the AM4 ecosystem, enabling users to upgrade across multiple generations of processors while preserving their existing platform investment.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Goes Global

Instead of expanding its lineup with an entirely new GPU, AMD is giving a wider audience access to an existing one. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is shedding its China-exclusive status and launching globally on June 1. The card will be available worldwide for $549, offering gamers another option in the increasingly competitive midrange graphics market.
